Where’s Liam?

Where Liam?

Where Liam?

So, I have been living in my own world for a while and feel like I have been very quiet. For the past few years, I have been heads-down working on client projects, building courses, and occasionally speaking at conferences. I have continued working in Microsoft 365 and Azure. I spend nearly every day consulting, developing, teaching, or troubleshooting issues in both Microsoft 365 and Azure, as well as other technologies. I have branched out a little into different areas of Security, which I enjoy, more from a course perspective, such as digital forensics, threat modeling, managed detection response, and incident response. All are still connected to Microsoft 365 and Azure, as well as other technologies and software stacks.

My passion for Microsoft technologies has enabled me to support my family for almost 27 years. That makes me feel old now. I recall the good old days of working at the Microsoft campus in Reading, UK, where I was involved in various projects, including working out of multiple secure bunkers for the military, and working on projects in nondescript buildings in London. I also spent many years of my life at a Nuclear Power Plant, along with various projects in every industry, from finance to music, to law enforcement, to oil and gas, and local city councils.

After moving to the US, I was just as busy traveling to nearly every state for meetings and work. I had the opportunity to work with numerous non-profits and associations, as well as many small and large organizations, as they transitioned from on-premises to cloud-based solutions. I also had the chance to speak at some of the largest conferences in the US and around the world, which was an amazing experience that I still enjoy, although less frequently now.

Life is different for me now. I work from home, spend more time with my kids, and also enjoy spending time with my grandkids. I also enjoy coaching soccer for my sons’ U15 team and managing an adult semi-pro soccer team, which requires a significant amount of time as well. I still run, and mountain bike, and enjoy getting outdoors.

My family and I are doing well, all moving forward with life and getting on with things. If you see me around, come say hello, attend one of my talks, or reach out and let’s work together.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that my family and I finally did it – we became American Citizens after living here for 15 years. As of earlier today, I was sworn in as a US Citizen!! Onwards and upwards!!
